What sets this test
apart?

This test uses genetic markers to identify inherited genetic complications in protein-based life forms. A genetic marker is a sequence of DNA with a known physical location on a chromosome with identified properties and traits attached to it. With the known repository of markers associated with genetic disorders, we can identify what ailments canine subjects can get in their lifetimes and be prepared to tackle them well in advance making their lives relatively painfree and treatments more effective and easy.

Under Gene 'TPO' research has found that the genetic marker 'AGSCTD058' causes Thyrodism in dogs.

What happens at the Lab?

Our state-of-the-art DNA extraction and
analysis process ensures accurate results.

Sample Viability Check

Once the sample reaches the lab, we check if the buffer liquid inside the collection tube has enough DNA to test.

DNA Extraction

Our team of experts begin the complex process of extracting your dog’s DNA from the saliva sample.

Contamination Check

We run checks to see if the DNA has not been contaminated (can happen due to the dog eating before the sample was taken or the dog chewing on the swab).

Resampling (if required)

If the DNA does not pass Step 3, a resampling is recommended to ensure that the result is accurate. Sit tight, we’ll send you a resampling kit for free.

DNA Amplification

Once our experts give us the green light on the sample, the DNA is amplified and placed on a small chip.

DNA Sequencing (NGS)

The chip is placed in a machine where Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Technology is used to sequence the DNA.

Analysis

Our team of expert geneticists analyse the results multiple times to ensure accuracy.

Our intensive process helps in discovering what genetic predispositions your dog has and hence helps you to care for them better.
