What is a Parentage DNA Test?

– It’s a genetic test that determines whether a specific male or female is the
biological parent of a puppy or kitten by comparing their DNA profiles.

– It’s ideal for pet owners, breeders, and rescue organizations who want to confirm
lineage, maintain pedigree records, or ensure responsible breeding.

– Yes, absolutely! Our test is designed for both dogs and cats. Just ensure you
collect samples from the pup/kitten and at least one suspected parent.

You’ll need cheek swab samples from:

– The puppy or kitten

– One or both suspected parents

– Each sample undergoes stringent quality control and analysis to ensure the
maximum accuracy of results when comparing the puppy’s DNA with one or both
parents.

– Once we receive your samples at our lab, results are typically delivered within 12–
15 working days.

– That’s fine! We can run the test with one parent’s sample as well, though if you’re
only testing for 1 parent, we require 2 samples – 1 for your dog & 1 for his parent & if
testing for both parents, then similarly, we require 3 samples, 1 for your dog & 2 for
parents.

– Minimum 2 Kits are required to do a successful parentage test as each kit
contains the capability to test only 1 pet. So, Buy yourself 2 Kits if you’re going to test
for 1 pet parent i.e. 1 for your Pet & 1 for the Parent, but if you’re going to test for both
pet parents, you’ll need to purchase 3 kits i.e. 2 for both Parents & 1 for the pet.
